One of the most outstanding characteristics of Sigma Phi and an important reason for our outstanding chapters and longevity is our alumni support.

From the dawn of our existence in 1827, the relationship between our alumni and undergraduate members has been strong. Each chapter has its own local alumni association which is responsible for all legal and operating functions of the chapter. These bodies meet and interact with the undergraduates on a regular basis to inform, advise and educate. In addition, alumni also interact on a social level at homecomings and other alumni events. In addition to our alumni board, our chapters all have a chapter advisor who works closely with the undergraduate leadership in conjunction with the day-to-day machinations of operating the chapter.

The chapter advisor also acts as an alumni liason to the host institution and/or the Greek advisor. Some chapters also have faculty advisors and graduate student advisors to assist undergraduates in their daily routines. A large part of the communication between the alumni and the undergraduates comes from our chapter newsletters. Each chapter publishes a newsletter with articles of the various newsworthy happenings throughout the academic year. Our caring alumni support has always been the hallmark of our Society and it will always remain a catylist for sound healthy chapters.
